This is such a cool site! Books can be add book to different bookshelves that you have read, are reading or want to read.
Other categories, such as a bookshelf of Authors, or I added a "Highly Recommended" bookshelf and a "Not Recommended" Bookshelf can be created. The possibilities are endless. Hope you check it out http://www.goodreads.... Edited by Rebecca on Oct 2, 2008 11:51 AM |

I don't do goodreads, but on Facebook, I do use an app called Virtual Bookshelf which is very similar in concept. You ahve 3 bookshelves... What you are reading now, what you want to read, and what you have already read. You can write reviews of the books you read, generate recommendations based on what is on your bookshelves, create book lists, and see what your friends are reading.

What I like about GoodReads.com is you can create your own Bookshelfs + the default Shelves To Read, Currently Reading and Read. You can also do all the other things you mentioned recommending books, updating your friends on what you are reading, writing reviews... Which ever one you use, it is a good way to stay in touch with friends and what books are on their shelves. See what there reviews are, etc. I recently asked Joyce about a book she rated. |
