Hi SOCWBC Ladies,
Some of you I see happily every month that I am there, while others I have only met once or twice, or not at all

, but I hope to meet all of you some time in the future, or maybe re-acquaint myself with some of our long-time Members who haven't been around for a while.
Being the Organizer for the last one and one quarter years, I have started to be contacted frequently by budding authors, as well as a few vendors, and quite a few writers. My belief is if I am contacted, I should do something in response. I have started to reach out. You can actually see the results by checking out these "Sponsors" of SOCWBC by going to our website,
SOCWBC. Often they offer discounts, perks, giveaways or provide a copy of a book.
Here are some of the other Meetup Events going on as well:
- Holiday Party - Dec. 19. Long-time member, Kathy, is graciously opening her home in Tustin.
Panera Bread will be donating a tasty Pasty Ring, 2 Carafes of Coffee, and sandwich trays. Most of you know we normally meet at Panera for our monthly meeting!
Divine Decadence is a catering company that would like to catch your attention with her eye-catching creations and will provide a bottle of wine, and an appetizer for us to enjoy!
- November/December Book Read is being held the first Wednesday, 12/02/09, at Panera Bread. Michael J. Fox's memoir, "Always looking up: Adventures of an Incurable Optimist" is the book we chose to read.
- Are you aware that the upcoming books are listed at the SOCWBC site? Just go to the "About" tab.
- Our Classic Book Meetup has a great theme for December! They've decided to read "A Christmas Carol." Classic Book Group usually meet at CoCo's Mission Viejo, on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, but December's meeting will be a member's home.
So I hope you will pencil in all or some of the upcoming Events. It would be a great time to meet other members, and for us to meet you! It doesn't matter to us whether you joined six months ago or six days ago, and I do hope we see some of our members who haven't been around for a while back in touch!
Book Club Tools - - Our Website, www.socwbc.org/ (for our Calendar, Polls, Sponsor Links, Book List)
- Twitter - Will you join me? www.twitter.com/SOCWBC/ (News about Authors, Links, Products, Books, Reminders, Event updates). There is also a link on the main page of website.
- Facebook Group - you don't have to "friend" me to be a part of the Facebook group. Just search for the SOCWBC Group, and join us! I post Status Updates on things I am thinking of in regard to the book club, and you can too! Since I disabled the Message Board on the meetup site, this would be a great place to post Wall posts, or Twitter SOCWBC.
Other Highlights -
The benefit of any group, especially I believe a Women's Social Group is how diverse we are in so many ways! The resources are Incredible! We have Art Dealers, Entrepreneurs, Financial Planners, Teachers, Writers, Photographers, Crafters, Sales & Marketing Reps, and Computer Geeks (like me). Why not get to know one another and marvel at our resources, talent and gifts! Yes?
Let me highlight a few here below:
Jennifer is a mom of a little girl and she is an expert Crafter. She has this blog and on the blog has giveaways. Here is the link if you are interested in Soy Candles and a giveaway. She has 2 other giveaways as well.

She also started freelancing, and her work is beautiful. She has a $25 Holiday Special, so if you are thinking of having any Photographs done...you might want to check her site out!!
www.tayloredphotomemories.comwww.tayloredphotomemories.blogspot.comIf you have anything you would like to promote, that you think would fit in with the group, shoot an email to me! We may be able to work out a Sponsorship, or I can at least Twitter about it or you can Twitter about it to SOCWBC, or you can write on the Facebook SOCWBC group wall! You can also come to meetings and share your idea, service or product (please get permission first).
Thanks for your time, and I am wishing on behalf of the Asst. Organizers and myself a very happy Thanksgiving!
