The Help (Kathryn Stockett), The Marrow of Tradition (Charles Chesnutt), The Giver (Lois Lowry), The Red Tent (Anita Diamant), My Sister's Keeper, and most books by Jodi Picoult

I have heard that Sarah's Key (Tatiana de Rosnay) is excellent, as well as Eat, Pray, Love (Elizabeth Gilbert), both of which I have not read yet.
